Cooker and Hob Installation

Cooker Maintenace and Servicing

As with any gas appliance in your home, you should always ensure that your gas cooker and hob is properly maintained. Gas, electric ceramic and induction hobs do not require any routine maintenance aside from cleaning. However, if you have a gas or Aga Range cooker, it is recommended that you have it serviced by a qualified gas engineer every 12 months. The’ Total Control’ and the ‘Dual Control’ need an interim service every 2 – 3 years and a full service every 5 years. This is to ensure their electrical safety and operation.

During a gas safety check, one of our Gas Safe registered engineers will check your gas oven and hob to ensure it’s safe to continue using in your home, making sure the gas is burning correctly, the appliance is secure, and any pipework is connected securely. They will also check the ventilation requirements for safety and comfort of use.

Common problems with a gas cooker or hob

Black or brown marks around the appliance
